Program & Services

What does a regular day look like for my child?

While every day is a little bit different at Kindy Cottage Sandgate, we do follow a daily routine to support your child's age, stage and individual needs. Children are generally grouped by age — nursery (babies to 15 months), toddlers (16 months to 2 years), pre-kindy (2 to 3 years) and kindy (4 to 5 years) — while still enjoying opportunities to connect across age groups throughout the day.

In our nursery, babies are cared for in a dedicated space with its own private play area, while toddlers and older children can move safely between indoor and outdoor environments as they explore and play.

Your child will spend time getting to know other children and their educators, eating meals together, and settling into their playroom where their belongings are safely stored. While age guides your child's placement, we also consider each child's individual readiness and balance this with same-age learning and mixed-age interactions.

Are healthy meals included?

Yes, we provide nutritious meals for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for children over one year old.

Are nappies included?

Absolutely. We provide nappies and wipes. And when it's time for your child's toilet training journey, we are an active and supportive partner to families to ensure a consistent and positive experience both at home and at childcare.

My baby isn't sleeping or feeding well — can you help?

Yes, we can. As a Kindy Cottage Sandgate family, you can access the expertise of our specialised baby nurse, who can provide guidance and support tailored to your child's needs.

Is your kindergarten program aligned with the government's curriculum?

Our teaching and curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG).

The approved learning frameworks are linked to the National Quality Standard and outline practices that support and promote children's learning from birth right through to 12 years old, including their transition to school.
